As we approach the summer days ahead of us, it's that time of year to showcase one of my favorite outfits. My bright floral dress in the desert! The first time I put on this dress, I immediately felt a connection with where I was – beautiful Death Valley. The long, endless sightlines of the desert and the immediate heat sensation made me feel alive and free. 

The bright floral colors made me stand out among the dry sand and cacti, which beckoned me to approach them. Take note of the open shoulder. While it might seem strange to have a single open shoulder (and an uneven tan!), it was the opposite. I felt a sense of freedom with this open shoulder, yet secure enough on the other to stay in place in the event of any wind gust.

​Notice at the base of the dress how the opening gives a sense of freedom and flow. Walking in this dress was a breeze, as they say. I have always loved dresses with an open flow such as this, and this dress does not disappoint! I can say that this is one of the most comfortable dresses that I have ever worn. In the desert, a bit of looseness in a dress is a must, but also not so loose that it looks baggy. 

I found that I could use various kinds of shoes that complemented my look. Whether it was a set of small sneakers or longer ankle-height boots, it was easy to find a set of footwear that complimented my style.

The weather is warming up in California and the sleeves are coming off. I went for a chic cut-off vest to add texture to my outfit and a thin black pencil skirt, while Luna keeps it casual in a baggy Balenciaga tee. She loves her Balenciaga sneakers, so we wore matching pairs for this stroll through Pasadena.

​I love to mix and match styles right now, so the Marcella skirt and the chunky sneakers give that perfect mix of stylish and sporty. We have a lot of big plans this summer. It's good to have sneakers on hand - you don't want to walk around all day in uncomfortable shoes.

Luna and I love matching, so we also pulled out our matching Balenciaga handbags. The extra chain on her handle makes it easy for her to wear without dragging it everywhere, too. On dressed-down days like this, I try not to wear too much jewelry. I layered a few light gold necklaces to match the plunging neckline on the vest, but nothing too flashy. I stayed lowkey with the unassuming paperclip earrings, and let me tell you - I love these. They're not ostentatious, they're not too flashy to wear out, and they go with everything. I can wear them with a casual look like this or dress them up with something more elegant too. 

As Earth Day is around the corner, I am excited to style my new spring pieces from sustainable brands. One of my current favorite brands is WVN, a conscious fashion brand that is committed to creating good-looking clothes without environmental impact. Here I shared one of my favorite looks from their spring releases, the Amber Jumpsuit. The fabric is 100% organic cotton, which is gentle to the skin while caring for the Earth. As the weather is getting cooler by the end of August, I am still wearing my favorite summer outfit (in LA). It’s an easy way to style summer pieces for fall by simply adding layers. These summer staple pieces can last longer in my closet till early fall.

I am recently inspired by Parisian stylists and wearing a lot of comfortably feminine street outfits likes this. These looks can be both classic and chic with mix and matched summer and fall items. The ivory tee is from Lovers + Friends and the high-waisted linen shorts are Song of Style, both are available on Revolve. I layered a navy and white stripped sweater blazer for chilling fall nights - I love that this piece added color to the neutral outfit.

These platform sandals are my favorite summer shoes. The handbag is a tweed Chanel flap bag from my 2019 collection - perfect material for winter and fall. I can elevate the whole look with gold accessories and sunglasses.

This casual outfit is so summer friendly. As the temp goes up, I have been looking for some new pieces for my summer wardrobe. I wanted to keep it simple so that I can literally style them without too much effort. 

This top is Lynn by Lovers + Friends. I love the comfortable fit first of all. The fabric is breathable and stretchy. The hem is nicely belted. I was going to get a crop top to pair with the mini skirt and this top is not so cropped but it has the right length for this look. It's a little shorter than my regular shirt but it is not showing the waist at all. This top is chic enough for the gram and also versatile for everyday duty. My size is XS and it fits perfectly. 

​The black skirt is Milan Ruffle Mini Skirt by superdown, a super affordable brand with lots of trendy styles. The wrap ruffle hem of the skirt is totally my type of tea. This skirt looks feminine and cute with its unique contour. The black color also makes it a little more "cool". I can pair the skirt with a tight top like this or a loose blouse to show a little waistline. 

I found these pieces on Revolve, one of my favorite fashion retailers. Revolve also has similar shoe styles and accessories that are more affordable than I expected. Now I can easily mix and match my old pieces with these new ones from Revolve. 

​These black padded platform sandals are my favorite fashion trend this summer. You can find similar styles here. I finished my look with a pair of round sunglasses. I have been wearing a lot of retro round sunnies lately - so obsessed. 

A basic shirt is luxury accessories’ best canvas. This is my summer outfit on repeat. A basic white shirt is my go-to top for the beach and so many other occasions in summer. I was inspired by the tips and tricks in those TikTok videos. It was fun.

Since the white shirt is accent-less itself, I have so many fun options to style it. A Chanel straw cap, a colorful mini Bottega bag and a pair of Song of Style dress shorts. You can wear a pair of denim shorts if more accessible. The slides are my vintage Hermès. They last for 10 years. I completed the look with my minimalistic gold accessories.

This look is chic enough to be shared on the gram and also comfortable enough to wear all day. This white shirt is from YJACK a Californian brand that makes perfectly fit basic shirts.

Mother’s Day is a special occasion when we show how much we appreciate our moms. They are the most special persons in our lives. Honestly, I haven’t been celebrating Mother’s Day for a few years since my mom passed away a few years ago. But this year with my baby Luna in my arms, I am celebrating my first Mother’s Day as a new mom. I wanted to pick a few things for myself and make it special.

I used to wear solid colors with flora prints just to play safe but this dress inspired me to mix match different floral prints for a sweet and feminine look.

I can button up for a traditional long-sleeve look or unbutton some of them to show a little bit of the skin. The waist is stretchy for a comfortable fit with very feminine hour glass silhouette. 

Who said boots are only for fall and winter? For this spring-summer transition look, I pair the mini dress with these pink floral print boots with metallic toe details. I purchased these boots from Apologies Paris for NYFW two years ago - the pink boots still look unexpectedly cute for 2021. They keep the whole spring/summer look blooming well. Totally obsessed! 

The crystal-fringed rainbow earrings are from Amrita Singh Jewelry. The headband is Mure + Grand Boutique. The same piece might be sold out but there are similar styles on the website.

​It’s all about mix and match. If your wardrobe has a few versatile pieces, you can easily rotate your looks to make an easy transition from day to night, from work to party and from home to vacay. 

​This time I added a few new items and they became my go-to choices for spring. ​For the day, I put together a not-so-basic basic outfit. The white vegan leather top and its matching trousers are my favorite staple pieces for spring. It’s been over 80 degree during the day in LA but these vegan leather pieces are breathable and easy to wear. I literally wear summer outfits when I enjoy the blossoms in spring. This set is perfect for a casual day look. I paired it with these minimal black and white strappy sandals. The asymmetric color of the straps looked chic and playful. I use dainty accessories to add a little elegance. The crossbody bag is a straw clutch with a convertible chain strap. The straw material brings some natural accents to the look. 

Just by layering a piece of lightweight cardigan, I can easily style it for a chic night look. The contrast of black cardigan and white trousers makes a bold statement. For the accessories, these bold gold jewelry pieces just elevate the whole look. The crossbody bag is converted into a small clutch. This look is perfect for a romantic date night or a dinner with friends.

Sweater season is always coming late in LA. When the sun is showing up less often andwe spend more time indoors, these lightweight sweater sets seem to be a perfect outfit for the season. You can mix-match a sweater or a cardigan with anything, jeans, dress, shorts, trousers, etc. But the sweater set is just getting seriously trendy in 2020. Yes I know, everything has changed and became so cozy during the special times. We literally wear everything with stretch fabrics in 2020 for WFH. This sweater set trend is one of my favorites. 

We had a weekend getaway to Bombay Beach California. It's a fun location for photos. The vintage houses and artistic installations are so inspirational. I layered a soft BoBeau cardigan over a knit top from LPA with buttons. The pants are matching the cardigans with a soft belt around the waist, which is an interesting detail that I love. The fabrics are soft and cozy. I can wear them on my couch and on the go. The length of pants works well with the snake-print boots from Alterre NY. These boots are interchangeable with their strap accessories. To look even cozier and warmer, I added a cute beanie from Mauby. 

Look at the beautiful sunset in Bombay Beach. My outfit was blended with the colorful TV stacks in the wilderness. I enjoyed wearing the two-piece knit set for this trip. The super comfy lounging set turned out to be a fashionable look for the gram. These matching sets will probably all that I want to wear for the rest of 2020. 

This top is a semi-sheer ruffle blouse with structural shoulders and neckline. I am obsessed with its bold hot pink color and EXTRA ruffle layers. More interestingly, I wore it with the emerald wide-legged pants from this collection for a super popping color combo. The whole look was so fiercely loud that I was like ready for a big stage.

The sunglasses and bangle are from Mulberry and Grand. 

Jewelry is more than a great addition to the outfit - it's a staple piece that a look is incomplete if missing. I am HUGE on gold jewelry. I finish all my outfits with a touch of gold. I recently got a few nice pieces from Selin Kent, a luxury jewelry brand from New York that makes classy and artsy jewelry pieces for modern women. 

The 4-in-1 necklace and bracelet set is my favorite. It's made of 19K gold that looks luxury and feels luxury. I can easily convert a long necklace into a small bracelet, a choker and a layered bracelet. Chain necklace has been on trend for years and I think the trendy will go on for a while. The minimalistic look and versatile style will go with a lot of different outfits. It can be dressed up or down. This design is so uniquely beautiful. It could be one of the best investments in a modern women's accessory collection. 

The rings and earrings are also very artistic and edge. The asymmetric square stracture and fan-shaped pieces are so enchantingly beautiful. I could't get enough of Selin's jewelry. I can wear them for everyday look. You will also find unique pieces for wedding, engagement or gifts for her. 

Beach and waterfront photos are always my dream maternity photo themes but with the reopening of the city, LA's popular beaches have been so busy and it's hard to practice social distancing...

So we switched the theme to desert and mountain. My husband Robert and I drove 200 miles to the nearest desert in Joshua Tree National Park. It was 100 degree but we still had so much fun taking these maternity photos. I did three quick outfit changes and the photos turned out to be beautiful.

It's no easy job to stay fashionable during pregnancy. Dressing the bump can be very challenging. Some maternity clothes are friendly to the bump but not so Instagrammable. I don't want to limit my options so I tried a few maternity fashion brands and non-maternity brands that offer styles with flexible waist design. Most of these pieces will still work for my regular body shape  after pregnancy. They are not exclusively for materntiy looks so I can easily save some extra $$$ on that, why not? 

I love this bump-friendly dress from Legoe Heritage. This dress can be all-year-round. This dress looks dolly and super flattering with a 7-month baby bump and it will also look great on a post-baby body. The high-waist design and half button-down front make nursing mamas' life easier. The woven material is super drapery and soft to skin. 

The smart business fashion brand M.M. LaFleur is offering a lot of resort styles like the white maxi dress this season. I am a big fan of their high-end minimal clothes. This dress is not a maternity dress but it's super bump friendly. It doesn't limit the waist at all. I can lace it as loose as I want so that I have enough room for the kicking LO in the belly.  The puffy sleeves make the whole look even more dolly. I paired it with flat sandals and sometimes sneakers or low-heeled mules. It's just so versatile and dreamy. 

It's pretty hard to style a two-piece look in my third trimester but this skirt from BAE The Label just makes things so easy. It's a wrap skirt with total flexibility for the waistline. I can style it like high-waist above my belly or a regular medium-waist look for postpartum. This navy skirt with polka dots is so Parisian and chic. Any top loose or fit will work for this skirt. It works with white, beige, blue or neutral colors. I had so much fun styling this cute piece. 

Another effortless piece from Legoe Heritage! Love this cotton blend fabric that is so breathable for summer. Again, it's a high-waist dress with plenty of room for the baby bump. The neckline, the stripe print, the shell button, it just looks so feminine and effortless. Any casual shoes and simple accessories will be nice to finish the look. 

Designed by Mama and for Mamas. Mama Muse is a cute maternity brand from Australia. This dress is a nursing friendly and bump friendly piece that is wonderful for pregnancy and postpartum. With the romantic blush fabrics, slightly ruffled sleeves and beautiful lace details, this dress makes a boho chic statement for dreamers. 

I am so glad that CUSHNIE partnered with Target for this beautiful collection. Cushnie speaks for modern women who are sophisticated and extremely feminine. This dress is not a maternity dress and has no nursing access at the front. But the style  looks totally flattering for mama-to-bes. The twist-front details and cross back lace elevate the entire look and make my belly look pretty. 

I enjoyed wearing this Misa dress. The white fish prints are so playful. Puffy sleeves are so trendy this season. Lots of puffy sleeves are seen on Vogue and in top fashion editors' radar. I love it for my matenity looks because the skirt is very loose and versatile. The blue color brightens up my summer. The material is 100% cotton and super gentle to the skin. I can wear it up or down by pairing different shoes and bags. Which one is your favorite? 

This is my updated maternity style haul. In this video, I tried a few new dresses that are very bump-friendly and some of them are nursing dresses as well. I have been staying positive since I got pregnant. Styling the bump is super fun and challenging for me a first-time mom. I can even feel my baby kicking in the belly when I film my videos. It's an amazing experience.

When the whole world is searching for a cure of coronavirus and mental health, I am seriously considering doing more for the Earth and human beings as a fashion blogger. Being sustainable and considering afterlife of garments seem to be more than a trend in our industry. Emotional durability and the life of fashion items are now carefully designed by brands and the sustainability message is frequently communicated with consumers. Can sustainable fashion be less boring? Yes, I want to take care of the environment by shopping less and recycling more. Sustainable fashion is not a basic cotton tee anymore. H&M's latest Conscious Collection seems to be the answer. 

This patterned silk dress is made of organic silk. I love the unique mosaic print and its comfortable fit. The silk is gentle to skin and the summer dress look is elegant and timeless. I recreated this hair band using its silk blend scarf. They are not a matching set but they turned out to be perfectly  coordinated. I paired this dress with my old Manolo suede sandals that I purchased from The Real Real last summer. I have shared sustainable fashion brands since two years ago - it seems that I was already a slow mover on social media. But at least, I got to learn more about upcycling and circularity from the industry. I also recommend sustainable brands like Kindom (@kindomshop), Pact (@wearpact) and Indigenous (@indigenousdesigns).

It’s not necessarily the most comfortable outfit for home, but the virus will never stop me from dressing up and snap an Instagram pic.
